WSB Cape Town Team Shines at the Sanlam 5km Fun Run — Promoting Wellness, Team Spirit, and Healthy Living

At World Sports Betting, we believe that success starts with well-being — and this past weekend, our Cape Town team embodied that philosophy with energy, unity, and enthusiasm as they took part in the Sanlam 5km Fun Run on the weekend of 18th October.

The event forms part of our ongoing employee wellness programme, which encourages staff to lead active, healthy lifestyles. As part of this initiative, WSB proudly sponsors staff entries into community races across South Africa on a quarterly basis.

Celebrating Team Spirit and Achievement

Despite challenging weather that led to the cancellation of Sunday’s 42.2 km marathon, Saturday’s events went ahead — and our WSB team made us proud.

All three of our female runners, Leigh, Lunga, and Hombisa, crossed the finish line hand in hand in a show of togetherness, completing the race in 44:27. Meanwhile, Ezekiel impressed with an excellent 33:25 time.

Adding to the excitement, our team also bumped into WSB Randburg Harriers runner, Thulani Msweli, who completed the 10km race in just over 40 minutes, placing him among the top 2% of all runners — a fantastic achievement!

Supporting Health, Community, and Connection

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is one of the continent’s most prestigious races and is on track to achieving World Marathon Major status, joining iconic events like Boston, Berlin, New York, and London.

We’re incredibly proud of our Cape Town team’s effort and commitment — not just to the race, but to living healthier, more balanced lives. At WSB, we believe that investing in wellness leads to stronger teams, better energy, and a culture that truly cares.

Here’s to our runners, and to every member of the WSB family who continues to make wellness a winning habit! 💙
