WSB Cares Visits Little Eden

This Mandela Day, the WSB Cares team proudly spent the day with the incredible residents of Little Eden, reinforcing our commitment to community, compassion and the spirit of service that Nelson Mandela inspired.

Little Eden is a remarkable organisation that provides lifelong care and support to individuals living with cerebral palsy and profound intellectual disabilities. It is a place built on dignity, inclusion and unconditional care, making it the perfect partner for WSB Cares to honour Mandela Day.

Creating Meaningful Experiences

This year’s visit focused on something truly special: creating unforgettable experiences.

While last year’s Mandela Day initiative centred around painting and planting projects, this year the emphasis was on spending quality time with residents, building genuine connections and creating moments that would leave lasting memories for everyone involved.

It was a day filled with smiles, conversation, creativity and laughter—proving that the greatest gift we can give is often our time.

Supporting Little Eden with Practical Donations

As part of this year’s Mandela Day initiative, WSB Cares donated:

• 100 bath towels
• 10 comfortable beanbags

These practical contributions will help enhance the daily comfort and wellbeing of Little Eden’s residents, supporting the outstanding care provided by the organisation every day.

A Day of Pampering and Creativity

The WSB Cares volunteers transformed the day into a celebration of joy and togetherness.

A dedicated Beauty Corner offered residents the chance to enjoy relaxing pamper sessions, including:

• Gentle massages
• Make-up application
• Nail care

The activities continued with creative workshops where residents and volunteers worked side by side to make beautiful therapeutic wind chimes and decorate colourful pebbles, encouraging creativity, self-expression and meaningful interaction.

Every activity was designed to create moments of happiness while strengthening the bonds between volunteers and residents.

Living the Spirit of Mandela Day

Mandela Day reminds us that each of us has the power to make a positive impact through simple acts of kindness.

The WSB Cares volunteers embraced this message wholeheartedly, dedicating their time, energy and compassion to creating a memorable day for the Little Eden community. Their enthusiasm reflected the values Nelson Mandela championed throughout his life—service, dignity, empathy and humanity.
