Flashback Friday: WSB Cares Hands Over R100,000 to CHOC Foundation in Centurion
On Mandela Day, the World Sports Betting CSI team, WSB Cares, had the privilege of visiting the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA in Centurion, Pretoria, to officially hand over R100,000 raised at our Poker With A Purpose charity evening.
About CHOC
CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, along with their families. Through a network of passionate staff and volunteers, CHOC provides psychosocial, emotional and practical support, helping families navigate one of life’s toughest journeys. Their work also promotes early detection and awareness, giving children the best chance at recovery.
The Handover
The R100,000 donation was secured thanks to Faith Nketsi’s winning performance at WSB’s inaugural Poker With A Purpose charity event. During our visit to the Centurion house, the WSB Cares team was welcomed warmly by CHOC’s dedicated staff and volunteers, who shared inspiring stories of the impact their programmes have on children and families.
The funds will go directly towards sustaining CHOC’s life-changing initiatives, from family support services to educational programmes that create awareness about childhood cancer.
WSB Cares – Playing With Purpose
This handover marked more than just a donation — it was a celebration of partnership and community spirit. WSB Cares is committed to standing alongside organisations like CHOC, whose work transforms lives every day.
“Poker With A Purpose was never just about poker,” said a WSB Cares representative. “It was about coming together to support the real heroes — the children and families who show immense courage in the face of cancer. We are honoured to walk this journey with CHOC.”
As part of our broader commitment, WSB Cares continues to invest in education, health, sport, and welfare initiatives across South Africa. Because when we play with purpose, everyone wins.
