WSB Cares Supports TEARS Foundation in the Fight Against GBV
Published by World Sports Betting
At World Sports Betting (WSB), we believe in making a difference beyond the betting world. Through our WSB Cares initiative, we recently partnered with the TEARS Foundation, donating 10 tablets to help strengthen their work in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa.
About TEARS Foundation
The TEARS Foundation has been at the forefront of GBV support for over 13 years, providing crucial resources and innovative solutions to victims and survivors of abuse. By harnessing technology, they break down barriers that prevent access to legal, medical, and psychological support.
Vision
TEARS envisions a South Africa where adults and children live free from abuse and sexual violence. Their mission is rooted in the belief that saying “No” is a fundamental human right. Every survivor deserves dignity, empathy, and access to the support they need, regardless of gender, race, or economic status.
President Cyril Ramaphosa recently highlighted the crisis of violence in our society, stating:
“At a time when the pandemic has left us all feeling vulnerable and uncertain, violence is being unleashed on women and children with a brutality that defies comprehension. These rapists and killers walk among us. They are in our communities. They are our fathers, our brothers, our sons and our friends; violent men with utterly no regard for the sanctity of human life.”
This reality underscores the importance of organisations like TEARS, who work tirelessly to protect victims and create a safer society.
WSB Cares Contribution
Our donation of 10 tablets will support TEARS in their operations, helping to expand their reach and improve their ability to provide immediate assistance to those in need. Technology remains a vital tool in bridging the gap between survivors and the services they so desperately require.
At WSB, we are proud to stand alongside organisations making a tangible difference in communities, and we remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote safety, empowerment, and equality.
