Kungwini Residents visit Loftus Versfeld

World Sports Betting and Vodacom Bulls Bring Joy to Kungwini Welfare Residents at Loftus Versfeld

In partnership with the Vodacom Bulls, World Sports Betting welcomed residents of Kungwini Welfare to the first Vodacom United Rugby Championship match of the season at Loftus Versfeld on 28th September. Over 220 staff, residents, and their families enjoyed a thrilling day, proudly wearing supporter shirts, and savouring snack packs throughout the game.

Ahead of their visit, several Vodacom Bulls players and World Sports Betting staff visited Kungwini, spending time painting and decorating support posters with the residents, which they proudly displayed during the match.

“Kungwini has been part of the Vodacom Bulls family for many years, and it’s incredible to see World Sports Betting make this day so special for them,” said Shanil Mangaroo, Marketing Manager at the Vodacom Bulls. The excitement didn’t end at full-time—Yolandi Venter, Sponsorship Manager for World Sports Betting, surprised Kungwini with a R50,000 donation on the field.

“The excitement and laughter of these residents were so heart-warming—it was truly special to be part of a day they can remember,” said Yolandi Venter.

Founded in 1983 with the establishment of the Paul Jungnickel Home, the Kungwini Welfare Organisation is committed to providing care and support for adults with disabilities. The land was generously donated by the late Dr Arrie Jungnickel to the Cripple Care Association, and the facility is named after Dr Jungnickel’s son, who faced physical challenges. Over the years, Kungwini has expanded its services and had a profound impact on the community.

The Paul Jungnickel Home remains central to Kungwini’s mission, offering comprehensive medical care and residence for 140 adults with disabilities. In 2019, the organisation extended its commitment by launching the Paul Jungnickel Home Senior, a specialised facility for 25 senior adults.

In addition to its residential care, Kungwini Welfare plays a vital role in community upliftment through social work and educational projects. One key initiative is the Early Learning Centre, which provides preschool education to local children, demonstrating Kungwini Welfare’s dedication to holistic community development and building a strong educational foundation for the youngest members of the community.

World Sports Betting and the Vodacom Bulls urge you to join in on supporting and showing love to this amazing home. Check out their website www.kwo.org.za for more information and see how you can assist.
